Reflections

One day at a time.

Honest perspective on love, friendship, family, letting go, and the relationship you have with yourself.

Welcome to Mostly Mended

Not fully healed. Not falling apart either. Somewhere in the middle, where most of us actually live.

This is a space for the in-between moments: the text you almost didn't send, the friendship that faded without a reason, the family dinner that went fine… mostly.

I'm not here to tell you how to fix your life. I'm here to remind you that being a work in progress isn't a failure. It's just honest.

The friend who drifted

Not every friendship ends with a fight. Some just get quieter. Fewer texts. Longer gaps. Then one day you realize it's been a year.

It's easy to make that mean something about you. Usually it doesn't. People grow in different directions, and sometimes a friendship was perfect for who you both were back then.

You're allowed to miss someone and still be okay without them.

The small no

For a long time, saying no felt like letting someone down.

So you said yes. To the extra favor, the plans you didn't want, the conversation you weren't ready for.

Then one day you said no, quietly, kindly, and the world didn't end. Nobody stopped loving you. You just had a little more of yourself left over.

That small no counts. It's what mending looks like up close.

You don't have to be finished

There's a version of you in your head who has it all figured out. Calm, confident, never overthinks a text.

You might never be that person. That's okay. The goal was never to be finished. It was to be a little kinder to yourself than you were last year.

Mostly mended is still mended.
